Fr. Peter A. Welling Council  13576                Newsletter                November, 2005
A WORD FROM our CHAPLAIN
Dear Brother Knights,
November is an important month in our church year.  While we should be mindful of praying for the souls in
Purgatory throughout the year, November is particularly dedicated to this charitable work of mercy.   It is for this
reason that immediately following the Holy Day of All Saints, we pray for the souls in Purgatory on All Souls Day,
November 2nd.  As a council we will be praying for our departed members of the Knights of Columbus as well as all
of our family and friends when we celebrate a special Mass before our General Council meeting on Wednesday,
November 3rd, at 6:00pm.  I hope you all can attend and participate with the offering of your own prayers and
intentions.  Remember there is no more fruitful and grace filled act that we can offer to Almighty God than in uniting
ourselves to Jesus Himself as he offers Himself to the Father for us in the mystery of the Mass.  May the souls of the
faithful departed rest in peace.
God bless you and your families!                  - Father,   Hintz

MAINTAINING  A WONDERFUL LIFE
Believe it or not, the holiday season is upon us.  A popular movie shown often this time of year is “It’s a Wonderful
Life.”  In it, the lead character, in a moment of desperation, proclaims that “it would have been better if I had never
been born.”  His “guardian angel” then gives him the opportunity to see how much different the lives of his friends
and family would have been had he, in fact, never been born.
None of us will have that opportunity.  But, like George Bailey, we do have a positive impact on the lives of our
friends, our families, and those in our communities.  We do this through our membership in the Knights of Columbus,
by volunteering in our Churches and communities and, not insignificantly, by making sure we have enough life
insurance.
Life insurance will allow your family to remain in their home and maintain their lifestyle  if something should happen
to you.  It will guarantee a college education for your children, or even your grandchildren.  It will ensure a
comfortable retirement for you and your wife.  It can even help your favorite charity to continue its humanitarian work.
No doubt about it – being an insured member of the Knights of Columbus helps make this “a wonderful life.”  Call
me.  -Manny Gallardo    (402)423-0250   e-mail: mgallardo@neb.rr.com
